This year, 2025, marks a significant milestone for Catholic Community Services of Utah as we celebrate 80 years of service to our community. Since our founding in 1945, CCS has been a steadfast source of hope, compassion, and support for individuals and families throughout Utah.
What began as a modest effort to care for children and families under the leadership of Bishop Duane G. Hunt has grown into a vital network of programs serving thousands of Utahns each year. Over the past eight decades, we have evolved to meet the changing needs of our community, expanding our services to include food assistance, refugee resettlement, and support for individuals experiencing homelessness.
Our journey has been one of resilience, growth, and unwavering dedication to our neighbors. From providing meals through the St. Vincent de Paul Center to supporting unaccompanied refugee minors through our Refugee Foster Care program, every step we take is guided by our mission: to practice the gospel values of love, compassion, and hope through service, support, and collaboration.
In moments of challenge and celebration, we have stood alongside our community. Whether rebuilding after fires, expanding to serve the Ogden area, or responding to global refugee crises, CCS remains committed to offering dignity, care, and opportunity to those who need it most.
This anniversary is not just a reflection of our past but a celebration of the countless individuals—clients, staff, volunteers, donors, and partners—who have made this work possible. Together, we have proven that compassion creates lasting change, and together, we will continue to build a brighter, more hopeful future for our community.
As we honor 80 years of service, we invite you to reflect with us on where we have been and join us as we look ahead to the next chapter. Thank you for being part of our mission and for helping us make a difference—yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Here’s to 80 years of compassion, and to many more to come!
